Q&A of frequently asked questions about Dewei Chuang's OXYGEN software
Release time: 23-10-31 14:17 Number of views: sixteen

If you already know DEWETRON Then you are probably familiar with our data collection software OXYGEN. Our measurement software is intuitive in the field of data acquisition, and can be operated through the touch screen or classic mouse and keyboard. Although it is very easy to use, OXYGEN is a very powerful tool with many different functions.

In this blog post, we collected 10 basic questions about our measurement software. Whether you are new to OXYGEN or are already using it, the answers to these questions will provide you with valuable insights into the functions and software itself.

We will discuss the following:

Does OXYGEN require a software license?

How do I get the latest updates?

Are there different OXYGEN packages?

What kind of operating system is required?

What is the DEWETRON Explorer?

How to visualize data in OXYGEN?

Can I view data during recording?

How do I create a test report?

Can I add my own functions/plug-ins?

What post-processing can OXYGEN do?

one OXYGEN Do you need a software license?

This depends on the application of the software. No software license is required for review of recorded data and post-processing. However, a license is required to record data.

If you have obtained a license, you can purchase the license only once. There is no mandatory periodic payment. In addition, the license includes all minor updates to the major version of OXYGEN purchased. Example: Purchase of OXYGEN gas 6 includes all 6. X update. However, upgrading to the next major version (7. x) must be purchased separately.

For those who want to keep up to date, we provide "OXYGEN Lifetime Option". This includes free updates to the latest version (including major version) within your chassis life cycle.

2. How do I get the latest updates?

The latest version of OXYGEN can be found in our customer service center (CCC). You can also find the software manual there, which provides information on the latest improvements and specifications. In addition, CCC also provides video, demonstration data, etc.

License description: After purchasing the OXYGEN license, you can access all minor software upgrades and updates of the obtained version (such as OXYGEN 6.0 to 6). x)。 Upgrading to a new major version (for example, OXYGEN 6.0 to 7.0) is costly.

3. Are there different OXYGEN packages?

In a way, yes!

In general, we provide a basic OXYGEN version for data acquisition and data processing. This includes synchronization, filtering, FFT, calculation of specific parameters, frequency measurement and other functions. In addition, we offer optional features that are optimized for specific applications and work lines. By adding these features to the base version, you can create your own separate OXYGEN package.

Note: All optional features must be purchased separately.

4. Which operating system is required?

Essentially, OXYGEN is a Windows based software, which means that it was originally designed for the Windows environment. As a result, it is as easy to manage as any other Windows software. However, starting from the 6.2 update, it can also run on the Linux operating system without restrictions. More precisely, OXYGEN supports Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8 (RHEL8) and Ubuntu 20.04 LTS distributions.

Measurement settings and DMD measurement data are fully compatible between different operating systems. For example, you can import settings that you have created from one system to another.

five DEWETRON What is Explorer?

The DEWETRON Explorer Explorer is an independent software, which is mainly used for two purposes. First, it serves as a hardware overview and firmware update program for all DEWETRON devices. It can automatically identify the device connected to the PC. Second, it allows the simulation of measured data through a "demonstration system". In a sense, it creates a virtual measuring device that can be used to simulate the required measurement. In the following video, we will show how to create a demonstration system step by step.

6. How to visualize data in OXYGEN?

The data visualization in OXYGEN is simple and direct. Instead of searching for the required parameters from a stack of values, use the required visualizers to display the required parameters and channels. They are easy to configure, resizable, and can be arranged by dragging and dropping as needed. Freely design your screen to optimize your measurements.

For complex measurements, many different parameters are usually required, and these parameters may not be all displayed on one screen. However, this is no problem, because our measurement software can easily copy a measurement screen or add a new one.

Finally, you can save each individual screen setting and use it as a template. In combination with the DEWETRON Explorer, you can prepare the measurement screen before the measurement starts.

7. Can I view data during recording?

Yes, you can. The software function "DejaView" allows you to view and analyze data, even during the recording process. This is particularly useful for long-term recording. You can check your current measurements without interrupting the recording.

In addition, you can view and analyze previous data sets through the OXYGEN Viewer function. It allows you to open and process multiple survey files in a separate window, even during recording different data sets.

8. How to create a test report?

You can create a report of measurement results by simply clicking the view. First, click the "Reporting" icon in the upper left corner of the screen. An empty form appears. Simply drag and drop to add your instruments and parameters to create a report, as explained for the measurement screen. Alternatively, clone your measurement screen and add it to your report. Finally, adjust the footer, such as using your company logo, and then save or print the report. Note that you can create reports during and after recording.

9. Can I add my own functions/plug-ins?

Yes, using the OXYGEN SDK function, you can create your own functions, tools, plug-ins, etc. If our software cannot meet all your needs, you can create your own customized functions.

10. What post-processing can OXYGEN do?

Short answer, quite a lot!

First, you can apply various mathematical operations. This includes simple four basic arithmetic operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division), as well as more advanced calculations (such as trigonometric functions and logical functions). Further implementation of the processing tool is CPB (constant percentage bandwidth )Analysis and FTT (Fast Fourier Transform) analysis.

Work line specific tools are available, such as:

Scanning sine analysis (optional)

Order analysis (optional)

Sound level (optional)

Power analysis (optional)
